The sixth volume in the Sky Lantern tape series features the debut record from the Tokyo drone-rock duo Tolchock, one of the many highlights of Guruguru Brain Records' recent Brain Wash compilation. Guitarist Taku Idemoto and drummer Shoko Yoshida take the reverb-soaked edifice of contemporary psychedelia, burn it to the ground, and construct colossal sound sculptures out of the charred remains. After Fog Open includes two lengthy studio explorations as well as an eight minute live recording in which they bring things crashing back down to earth in a fuzzed out rollercoaster jam. Heavy dig indeed!
